We have shown that the sense of owning one’s own body can affectvisual perception, which suggests the importance of considering body-in-mind in perceptual processing.Based on this finding, we are now investigating human perceptual processes linked to body-in-mind.Our recent study has investigated whether the process underlying body awareness is shared betweenbody localization and body ownership. To address this issue, we used a perceptual illusion in whichownership over a computer graphics hand is experienced (this illusion is referred to as the rubber handillusion), and combined this illusion with a statistical model of optimal multisensory integration process.This study revealed that there are separate multisensory integration processes between body localizationand body ownership in the human brain. This finding has implications for understanding the underlyingmechanisms for body self-awareness. We promote the research and teaching of understanding humanbehavior, human body, and human perception by means of psychophysics.Understanding human behavior through the principleof psychophysics情報技術は、今や社会の神経系として様々な社会基盤のシステムやサービスの高度化と効率化に深く寄与し、これらの技術は私たちの生活において必要不可欠なものとなっています。最近では、人の行動情報をセンシングし、人の意図や心身状態、人間関係を読み取ろうとする動きが進んでいます。このような状況を踏まえ、本研究室では、バーチャルリアリティ技術や視線計測技術を用いた実験心理学的手法によって人の身体行動に内在する意図や感情の理解に関する認知機能の解明に挑みます。私たちはこれまで、自己身体が視覚処理に顕著な影響を与えることを明確にし、感覚知覚処理に身体性を考慮すること（身体性情報処理）の重要性を示してきました（日本学術振興会賞受賞）。現在、心理・行動実験によって得られる人の行動特性を利用した「心の中の身体」の可視化など身体性情報処理技術の開発に取り組んでいます（JST さきがけ研究として推進中）。情報技術が現実の社会において様々な社会問題を解決するための重要な手段となっている現在、人の認知機能と情報技術をつなぐ認知情報学の役割は極めて重要であり、情報科学によって人の心を豊かにする社会の実現を目指し、認知情報学を軸とした情報科学の教育・研究を推進しています。実験心理学の原理から人の行動を理解する認知情報学Prof.Kazumichi Matsumiya教 授松宮 一道Human behavior ／ Psychophysics ／ Body in mind ／ Gaze behavior人間の行動／心理物理学／身体性／視線行動http://www.cp.is.tohoku.ac.jpCognitive Psychology認知情報学バーチャルリアリティー技術を用いた心理物理実験の装置と刺激。高い没入感を提示するヘッドマウントディスプレイ。バーApparatus and stimuli for a psychophysical experiment with the チャルな世界を利用して、人の認知行動特性を調べる。virtual reality technology.
